For our honeymoon, our dream is to travel to Greece for the first time. We will be watching world events closely to be sure it is safe to travel there during this time of economic hardship. Possible plans B, C, and D: Ibiza, Saint Bart’s, or Belize.

Boutique hotel near Union Square, very close to public transportation and about 4 blocks from the venue (rates are about the same as Triton, if not slightly cheaper). Complimentary coffee/tea, plus cocktail hour. Friends stayed here and enjoyed it.
Another cute boutique hotel close toUnion Square, but it’s a bit more expensive than Triton and farther away from the venue (cab required, depending on shoes). Complimentary coffee/tea, wine hour.
Of the hotels listed, this comfy and cozy hotel is probably the best deal, but I’ve heard that the rooms are a bit small. You would have to take cab or public transportation to the venue, but it’s conveniently located right on Market Street (also very close to our place).
Various friends and family have stayed at this quaint Japanese style boutique hotel in Japan Town (a bit cheaper than Triton, but you will end up spending more on cabs, since it’s farther away from the venue). Not as easily accessible via public transportation, but it shouldn’t be too bad finding cabs (with hotel’s help). O Izakaya Lounge is located in the hotel, and it’s close to Kabuki Hot Springs and Spa, plus a plethora of restaurants on Fillmore.
Boutique hotel right on the Embarcadero. Close to restaurants, bars, public transportation and cabs. Rates are higher than Triton (last we checked, they started around $230ish), and it’s about 9 blocks from the venue. Complimentary wine hour, coffee/tea, fitness and yoga channels, plus yoga accessories available for use during your stay.
Another boutique hotel on the Embarcadero, a few doors down from Harbor Court Inn. About the same rate as Triton, but further away from the venue. Perry’s Restaurant which has a good happy hour is located in the hotel. Free WIFI and gym. We don’t know anyone that has stayed here…
It’s the W! Rates are higher, starting at about $299, however, the great thing about it is that it’s directly across the street from the venue.
