The two fire dragons celebrating their love and commitment during the year of the water dragon encourage attire that evokes dragon energy (however you may interpret that), futuristic or timeless cocktail attire, or simply cocktail attire.
B Restaurant overlooks the lovely Yerba Buena Gardens. We chose B because it is located in the heart of San Francisco’s artistic center. Art is our spirituality. Plus it is a wonderfully designed, light filled indoor/outdoor venue with great food and drinks. Be prepared for SF weather and remember to bring a shawl or wrap!
Partial List of Spiritual/Creative/Musical Contibutors:
Dzung Vo (officiant, with support from Ly Hoang), Cynthia Lin (ceremony music), Diana Gameros Trio (reception music), Marilyn Yu (fashion design), Nena Otalvaro Sinclair (Gigi’s best woman and mistress of ceremonies), Michelle Cox Scheppler (Heather’s best woman), Paco Otalvaro (man of honor), Antonio Otalvaro (man of honor), Kartika Tulusan (entertainment coordinator), Russell Sinclair (photography), Angela DeCenzo (photography), Roberto Gomez (videography), Jay Panlilio (reception DJ, house and Latin beats), Camiel Becker and Scott Willoughby (bearers of sweet things), Young Whan Choi (consultant of spicy things), Mike Chendorain (after party DJ, house beats), Michelle Barth (honeymoon consultant), Tiffany Newby (after party point person), Pablo Masangcay, Alvaro Herrera (hair), Kira Kelly and Christopher Sprinkle (for inspiring a nontraditional approach), Maite Blanco and Liza Gort (for being the best LCM teammates), Emily Doman, Casey Carroll, and Christine Pan (for being last minute angels), Bonita/Raymond Cox and Carlos/Sonia Otalvaro (for their love and support)
Directions, Public Transportation, and Parking:
B is in the southeast corner of Yerba Buena Gardens–on the upper level of the structure between Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and the Metreon. It is right next to Samovar Tea House, and on the other (north) side of Moscone Convention center. Go to this link on the restaurant’s site to map it. Visit 511.org to map the best public transportation route as there are many bus and muni lines nearby. Closest parking garages: Moscone Center Parking Garage, Fourth-Fifth and Mission Garage, Jesse Square Garage, or SF MOMA Garage (the latter is a bit pricier than the rest, but the closest).
We have arranged to have Mighty all to ourselves starting at 8:30pm for the after party, with amazing house beats by Chendo (no host bar). Our after party will also be a pre-party for the venue’s monthly Salted event featuring the SF’s legendary deep house DJ Miguel Migs. Arrive by 9:45pm, otherwise, you will have to pay a cover at 10pm, which is when the box office opens for the general public ($10 before 11pm/$20 after). Mighty is in Potrero and approximately a 5 – 7 minute cab ride from B Restaurant. If you have questions, please contact us or the after party point person Tiffany Newby, at email@example.com. If you need a pit stop drink between reception and after party, consider Tropisueno or Anabelle’s (both very close to B Restaurant) or Il Pirata (close to Mighty).
Possible Pre-functions for you to consider:
The Marcus Shelby Jazz Orchestra is playing a free concert at the Yerba Buena Gardens Festival (1:00 – 2:30pm), just below the venue and right before our event begins. The SF MoMA, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Jewish Contemporary Museum, Museum of the African Diaspora, and other arts venues are within a block from the venue.
